Meet Our Dental Team
Dr. Irma Aguilera
Dr. Irma Aguilera is a general dentist born and raised in Paraguay. She acquired her degree in dentistry from the National University of Asuncion. After her graduation, she practiced dentistry for eight years in Paraguay until she moved to Canada with her family. Dr. Irma is compassionate and caring with her patients. Even apprehensive patients feel comfortable with her.
Dr. Aguilera is currently a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Alberta Dental Association and College, and the American Dental Association. She enjoys attending conferences and learning new techniques in dentistry that can allow her to grow in the profession.
She is fluent in English and Spanish, and she loves spending her spare time with her family. She loves animals, travelling, cooking with her husband and trying new recipes.
Dr. Jiteshkumar Motisariya
Dr. Jiteshkumar Motisariya, who goes by Dr. Kumar, was born and raised in India. Dr. Kumar obtained his bachelor of dental surgery (B.D.S) degree from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science in 2011. After practicing for two years in Surat, India. He decided to move to Canada in 2013, starting his journey at NAIT Edmonton. He graduated from NAIT in 2015 and obtained a diploma in Dental Technology with Honors. He worked as a dental technician in Edmonton while preparing for the NDEB Exam and got his license to practice dentistry in Canada in 2019. Dr. Kumar is heavily involved in continually updating his knowledge in dentistry. He strives to build long-lasting relationships with his patients by providing them with compassion, approachable and exceptional care. Dr. Kumar believes in working with his patients to find the best treatment options for their specific situations. Besides dentistry, Dr. Kumar loves to spend time with his lovely wife, Vidhi. He also likes to travel, read and play sports during his leisure time.
Dr. Maryam Abtahi
To call Dr. Abtahi a “lifetime learner” is an understatement. She received her first dental degree in 2010 from the University of Sharjah in Dubai and a second dental degree from the University of Alberta in 2020. Beyond dentistry, Dr. Abtahi has three master’s degrees in business from Silicon Valley and Dubai.
Dr. Abtahi is a frequent volunteer. Her passion for education and oral health - especially for those with disability - led her to volunteer with State Welfare Organization and improve the oral hygiene of rural disabled children. Dr. Abtahi was a member of the Red Crescent Society, where she participated in many projects focusing on improving oral health in rural areas of Iran.
Dr. Abtahi loves all aspects of dentistry, but the most rewarding part of her practice is interacting with people and caring for their oral health. She says, “Nothing is more rewarding than a patient leaving my chair with a sense of satisfaction. That makes my day.”
Having lived in Iran, Dubai, China, San Francisco, New York, Toronto and Edmonton, Dr. Abtahi has first-hand experience of vastly diverse cultural, spiritual, and economic backgrounds. Such experiences have helped her feel greater empathy for her patients, providing care with a sensitive touch, respecting their trust, and caring for each patient’s unique needs.
Dr. Abtahi is fluent in English and Farsi and can get by Spanish.
During her spare time, Dr. Abtahi loves to read poetry, go for a walk and spend time with her family.
